What is Dholera Special Investment #UPSC

DHOLERA CITY

Dholera Special Investment region is one of the several Greenfield cities that have been planned on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
The word "Greenfield" means no construction has done before in this site and a new city will form and "Brownfield" means upgradation or maintenance of constructed area.

A statement was given by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant that "effort by govt of india and govt of Gujrat to create top class quality infrastructure."
Dholera Investment region will be constructed around 20,000 crore rupees which will be funded by Japanese Government. A project of $90 billion dollars (6 lakh 30000 crore rupees).
It will be India's first Industrial city.

Benefit to India-

  • GDP(Gross Domestic Product) of India will increase. 
  • Economic activity will eventually focus on Manufacturing facility.
  • International Airport will also be constructed in this region. 
  • Cities burden of population will also decreased as 20 lakh inhabits will have their house and 8 lakh people will get Employment.
  • Investment hub image of India will increase and other countries will invest more in our country.

Eight Investment Regions proposed to be developed in Phase I of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)

  • Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh
  • Manesar Bawal, Haryana
  • Khushkhera Bhiwadi-Neemkhera
  • Jhodpur-Pali-Marwar, Rajasthan
  • Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow, Madhya Pradesh
  • Ahmedabad-Dholera Special Investment Region, Gujrat
  • Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Park
  • Dighi Port Industrial Area, Maharashtra
Amitabh Kant said that it will be World's first Green City as use of fuels will be used less here. 
Dholera will get power from 5,000 ultra mega solar park at Dholera solar.
Land can acquire easily by Government of India as this place is non-agricultural and no one lives there. This project will be completed by the year 2040.
This is the dream project of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
